Will the government control doctor's salaries? If so, will they resort to DC tactics to make extra $?

Let's face it, doctors make good paychecks. I do not doubt that they got into medicine because they care about people, but the lifestyle is pretty ';up there';. I see Porches, nice homes, vacation condos, trips abroad, pleasant offices in nice places, privileges and lots of perks.


So, if the government assigns a pay scale and has some wage czar determining what a doctor makes, will as many people want to become doctors? There are long hours, malpractice suits, paperwork, etc. and then holidays and weekends to work and then there is always being on call and the people who call for each and every tiny little thing. Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. might be spent diagnosing strep throats and ear infections, but if the pay is fantastic, you put up with it, right?


Do you think people will put up with that if their wages are limited?


Do you think doctors will find themselves accepting ';bribes'; to move and reschedule surgeries, alter a diagnosis and move people up on lists, etc. Do you see conditions developing that might be the same as lobbyists taking senators and members of congress on fancy trips and dinners, etc.?


Do you think there will be all sorts of temptations that will arise for medical professionals when their wages are lower when they are used to a high end lifestyle?Will the government control doctor's salaries? If so, will they resort to DC tactics to make extra $?
well my friend, i think what we are seeing is only the beginning for a lot of things this country has never seen before. i believe if the man and cronies get their way, there is going to be quite a bit of salary caps imposed on executives and much much more. what we are seeing is only the beginning of the control obama and his party have in store for us. one interesting note on the UHC proposal is kennedy's plan, on page 123 he inserted a provision to grandfather in the chrysler and gm union health plans...so what we have is a separate proposed plan for the car unions and what is to be a separate plan for just us 'common' folk that didn't donate to his campaign. people should be watching this man very closely...as a side note, no matter what the MSM says or showed yesterday when he spoke to the ama, the doctors are most definitely not on board with this sham !!!Will the government control doctor's salaries? Yes and no. The more the goverment controls, legislates or criminalizes anything, the more they create a black market. It has already happened to Pistol ammo. People are buying up in droves and re-selling it higher prices. Think you'll just make you're own ammo? nope. you can't get the primers.
A price cap on ANYTHING will create a shortage (assuming the cap is set below the market price). Medical professionals included.
No but it behooves the government to limit or cap fees for procedures since they're spiralling out of control...a doctor can perform as many as he can if he wants to earn more.
Or maybe it will be like Russia or Cuba, that has the highest rates of doctor-to-population in the world
