Is Washington DC's low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 due to strict gun control?

(and is Indianapolis' high murder rate of 9 per 100,000 due to the lack of gun control)Is Washington DC's low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 due to strict gun control?
Do you have those numbers backwards or are you just joking. 69 per 100,000 are higher numbers than 9 per 100,000. So if your numbers are correct than DC has a higher murder rate than Indianapolis thereby the strict gun control has not helped DC at all.

My opinion is if I have a gun and know how to use it which I do than I am less likely to become a victim because I can fire back.Is Washington DC's low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 due to strict gun control?
gun control is hitting what you aim at!!! By the way people have been killing each other since the dawn of time. You think no guns no murder? your an idiot.
He's being SARCASTIC people! Geez!
probably not, its just due to the fact everyone stopped killing eachother
Not everyone who is murdered is murdered with a gun . . .

As far as I know, there is no real gun control anywhere in the US. In fact, in some places, it is more likely you will get into trouble with the law for smoking, than having a smoking gun.
Indianapolis has gun control. You must register and be fingerprinted in order to carry a firearm. Maybe that is a deterrent? Penalty for failure to register can be severe.
Don't be silly! People don't kill people!...GUNS kill people!
I think it has more to due with the heat this summer. Poor people have little education and no AC. This **** happens every summer the last couple of years were not so bad though.
i'm not sure, seems like real life murderers are unoriginal and always use guns perhaps? pretty interesting question though.
Indiana has almost no gun control (including Indianapolis). Dont have to register any gun you buy, ANY. No background checks for person to person. The police cannot arbitralily reject a carry permit application. The only time anyone is registered and finger printed is for a carry conceal license. The only places you cant carry without the permit are gov. buildings schools and church. Class 3 weapons are legal (fully automatic, and/or silenced) so are cut down shotguns. So in Indiana you can legally carry a fully automatic suppressed 9mm Uzi, and a sawed off shotgun as long as it is concealed, and you have a class 3 permit and a carry permit.

Frivilous law suits against gun manufacturers is also illegal, we now have passed the ';Castle Doctrine'; stating you dont have to run away from a criminal before shooting in self defense.

These are the reasons I believe are responsible for the low murder rate in Indy.
No. People in Washington have a hard time hitting what they shoot at because of all the BS spewed from the Capitol.
