Laws are made to put a sense of consequences into society. Most laws are consequence driven. Just because the law is there providing you punishment for your crime, doesn't mean the people will abide by it.

Doing 6 years in prison means he's a convicted felon. He cannot carry a gun legally anywhere in the US. Gun control advocates take note.

he lived in MD and like most felons, broke the law. At any given time, half of the convicted felons in DC are armed.
DC borders on Virginia. VA has very loose gun laws. So does PA which is just a short drive from DC, as well as WV.
